A little more of my 8–8 🤍

Most people here know me through my paintings, but my full-time profession is surgery 🩺 🏥 ❤️

This week I’m working nights, mostly covering emergency neurosurgery, although my main specialty is paediatric surgery.

Painting has always been my passion, but for many years I saw it purely as a hobby alongside my career. I never imagined it would become anything more than that, let alone grow into a business that people would support.

As the business continues to grow, I’ll soon be reducing my hospital hours to dedicate more time to painting. It still feels surreal to write that. When I first picked up a paintbrush, I never thought this would be possible!

I just wanted to share a little more about the person behind the page, because these two parts of my life now exist side by side. Surgery is my profession, painting is my passion, and I feel incredibly grateful that I no longer have to choose between them 🎨

There’s something so special about Italy, especially in the summer months 🇮🇹✨

Last year’s trip was everything I dreamed of and more! Between sun-soaked days by the sea, endless aperitivos, and the charm of every little corner, I found myself completely inspired 🍋 I sat on the beach and hand-painted six beautiful bottles sourced from a local Italian bottle shop 🍷 ( the best part, we had to drink them all )

It’s moments like these that remind me that even when I’m technically off work, I’m never really off work when what I do feels like a genuine passion. Creativity has a way of following you wherever you go 🎨

I honestly can’t believe I’m writing this. What started as a little creative hobby has grown into something so special, and it’s all because of you. 💕

For those who are new here, this is truly my hobby and side hustle. My full-time job is working in paediatric surgery for the NHS, and I spend my spare time painting bottles because I absolutely love it. This very special piece was created as a post-wedding gift, bringing together so many meaningful memories from a beautiful day in South Africa 🇿🇦

I hand-painted the stunning venue, @diamantestate, and encased the bottle within the silhouette of the iconic Table Mountain 🇿🇦 Alongside this, I included delicate red roses from the wedding bouquets and beautiful peacock feathers, chosen for their deeply personal significance to the happy couple 🦚🌹💍
